Florida Firearm Safety and CCW Certification Course
Cost Per Person: $150 ($250 for Private CCW Option)
This includes a firearm if you don't currently own one, eye/ear protection and targets. The discounted range fee for our students is $8.50. Target Ammo can be provided for $15 or you are welcome to use your own. No payment is due until the day of your training session. Payment is accepted in check or cash. This course is available for all levels of experience. From novice to expert, above the age of 18. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Class will last approximately 5-6 hours for group classes. 4-5 hours for private classes. Frequent or as-needed breaks will be taken during the day. Please feel free to bring food / snacks and refreshments. Upon successful completion, you’ll receive one of the forms of application documentation required under Florida Section 790.06 (2)(h), which demonstrates Competency With a Firearm. This documentation can be used as part of your application for a Concealed Weapons License. You must be 21 or older to apply for this License.
Classes sizes are limited to assure the highest and most comprehensive level of instruction for all attendees. As with all our classes, we only go as fast as our slowest shooter to ensure a comfortable and effective learning experience. Classes are conducted in our Training Center at Total Impact Guns & Indoor Range. 616 North Tamiami Trail, Nokomis, FL 34275. For available class dates, call or text 865-ARMORED (276-6733). Course Description
Topics covered throughout this course include:
Cardinal Safety Rules and Gun Safety.
Range Safety.
Nomenclature and Operations of Various Types of Handguns.
Nomenclature and Operations of Various Types of Ammunition.
Nomenclature and Operations of Magazines for Firearms.
How to Properly Inspect a Weapon to Ensure it’s Clear.
Fundamentals of Marksmanship (Stance, Grip, Sight Alignment/Picture, Trigger Control and Follow Through).
Load, Reload, Emergency Reload and Tactical Reloads.
How to Properly Store and Handle Firearms in the House.
Shooting (minimum 30 round course of fire – semi automatic pistol and revolver).
Laws and Statutes for Concealed Carry in Florida.
What Type of Holster is Best for You.
For all these tactics and techniques, we won’t show you THE way, we will show you A way. It’s up to you to decide which works best for you.
What to Bring
Pen & Notepad.
Valid Drivers License for Range Access.
Lunch, snacks and refreshments. Grabbing a bite to eat or a drink during the classroom portion is welcome.
Ear and Eye Protection (If you don’t have your own, we can provide them for you).
Firearm (If you don’t have one yet, we can provide one for you at no charge).
Minimum of 2 Magazines (3 is preferable, and can be provided if you don’t own them).
Minimum 30 Rounds of Target Ammunition Matching your Firearm of Choice (We can also provide for $15).
Holster (Open Carry or Concealed if you own one).
Magazine pouches if you have them.

Revolver to qualify with, plus 5 rounds or ammunition.
